Swan Hill Rural City Council is thrilled to announce that the new Swan Hill Tourism and Cultural Experience Centre will open its doors this week, at Pioneer Settlement, in Monash Drive Swan Hill.

Council’s Director Development and Planning, Michelle Grainger said the opening of the new building also marked the consolidation of visitor services. The current Visitor Information Centre on Curlewis Street has now closed, with all services relocating to the new centre.

"Bringing everything together in a single, purpose-built location allows us to provide a seamless and enhanced experience for visitors and the local community alike,” Ms Grainger said.

Ms Grainger said the centre would softly open to allow staff to become fully acquainted with the new building, its facilities, and systems ahead of the busy holiday season.

"This step is essential to ensure everything runs smoothly, so visitors can enjoy a seamless, high-quality experience from day one," she said.

"An official opening ceremony is planned for early next year, marking an important milestone for tourism and cultural engagement in our region,” she added.

Council’s Mayor, Cr Stuart King said the centre represents a major step forward for regional tourism, strengthening Swan Hill’s reputation as a premier destination

“The new Experience Centre features improved accessibility, upgraded amenities, and a welcoming environment, ensuring everyone can enjoy what Swan Hill has to offer.

“Designed as a modern, interactive hub, the new centre reflects the rich history, culture, and attractions of Swan Hill and its surrounds.

"We’re excited about the positive impact this facility will have - not just for visitors, but for local businesses and our community as a whole - it’s a place where locals and visitors can connect, learn, and celebrate everything that makes Swan Hill special." he said.
