Woodturners
If you visit on the weekend, call in and see our volunteers at the Woodturners as they carry on the pioneering art of woodturning.
Most Mallee settlers used what they could find at home, like collected timber. Still, every small town had a carpenter's shop. Settlers could buy special furniture there. They found turned timber to enhance their own creations, and hardware like nails, hinges, and latches.
The Pioneer Settlement Woodturners is used most weekends and school holidays by our activation team and volunteer woodturners. They create small turned wood objects that you can take home as your own special keepsake.
